Hawk Estates Fire Devastates over 30 Families on Easter

EASTER SUNDAY FIRE IN NEW TOWN

The community is saddened by the tragic fire that ravaged through one of the NSPM Hawk Estates’ Apartment buildings on Easter Sunday in New Town. The building was deemed a total loss, and over 30 families lost all their personal belongings and pets in the Sunday morning fire.

The community came together at a moment’s notice to aid those that were affected. Emergency services from TAT Fire, TATLE, Parshall, New Town, Stanley, and Mandaree fire departments worked together effortlessly for hours to get the structure fire under control.

An evacuation site was set up immediately at the Northern Lights Wellness Center. All families were accounted for. They are now being lodged at 4Bears Casino and Lodge.

Donations were being accepted at NLWC and distributed to those families. Monetary donations were accepted through a Facebook fundraiser organized by Ft Berthold Communications Ent (KMHA Radio/MHA Times) where over $16K was raised by donations.

Monetary donations are still being accepted online at kmharadio.org and mhatimes.press

100% of proceeds will benefit those displaced by the fire.
